Ven Kunsang Choephel will give a free teaching in English on ‘Meditation on Avalokiteshvara’. Avalokiteshvara is the embodiment of the compassion of all the Buddhas, as visualised in the form of a meditational deity. Ven Kunsang Choephel will teach on the meaning of the six-syllable mantra of Avalokiteshvara: Om Ma-Ni Pad-Me Hum. The six syllables represent the six Buddha Families, the perfected, purified states of the six negative emotions (pride, jealousy/self-centred ambition, attachment, delusion, meanness and anger/hatred). The six negative emotions are the cause of being reborn into the six realms of cyclic existence. If one can abandon the six negative emotions, then liberation from cyclic existence can be achieved. Arrive at 9am for tea. Phone Ven Kunsang on 980 337 2212 for more information.
