Ven Kunsang Choephel will give an introduction to the ‘Heart Sutra’, one of the most cited and widely known Buddhist texts. The central topic of the ‘Heart Sutra’ is the Buddhist understanding of the ultimate nature of mind and phenomena. The Sutra presents a dialogue between the monk Shariputra and the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara in which Avalokiteshvara explains how a bodhisattva should meditate in order to realise the ultimate nature of reality, often referred to as ‘emptiness’. The teaching is in English and all are welcome. Arrive at 9am for tea. For more information, phone Ven Kunsang on 980 337 2212.
