On Sat 11 May from 9.30 – 11am Ven Kunsang Choephel will give a teaching on the topic of ‘Preliminary Practice for the Buddhist Path’. He will teach on ‘The Four Common Preliminaries’ for entering the Buddhist path. These are: (1)The cultivation of an appreciation for the potentials and the opportunities of human existence; (2) reflection on death and impermanence; (3) reflection on karma (the law of cause and effect); and (4) reflection on the unsatisfactory nature of life in the cycle of existence. These four considerations are regarded as key subjects of contemplation in a practitioners quest to overcome attachment to the attractions of worldly life. Successfully undertaken they lay a firm foundation for spiritual growth. The teaching is in English and is free. There will be time for questions and discussions after the teaching. Arrive at 9am for tea.
