We are pleased to announce Tibetan Monastery Services will videocast the next teaching by the Ven Kunsang Choephel titled ‘Meditation on Om Mani Padme Hum’ on June 1st, 2019 at the International Buddhist Academy, in Kathmandu. The Venerable Kunsang Choephel is becoming widely appreciated for the clarity and approachability of his introductory teachings on key topics. Registration for the webcast of the teaching on June 1st is now open at www.gompaservices.com. Registration and viewing will be available until June 24th, 2019. The webcast: Ven Kunsang will teach on the meaning of the six-syllable mantra of Avalokiteshvara: Om Ma-Ni Pad-Me Hum. Avalokiteshvara is the embodiment of the compassion of all the Buddhas, as visualized in the form of a meditational deity. The six syllables represent the perfected, purified states of the six negative emotions (pride, jealousy/self-centered ambition, attachment, delusion, greed/miserliness and anger/hatred). The six negative emotions are the cause of being reborn into the six realms of cyclic existence. If one can abandon the six negative emotions, then liberation from cyclic existence can be achieved.
The teaching is in English and will be recorded live and be available to view by the end of the day (Nepal time). The webcast will then remain available for you to view at any time of your choosing until June 24th.
The Gompa Services registration fee for the webcast is £4.00 or free for Gompa member-supporters. At the time you register you will also have the option to make a voluntary offering in support of the International Buddhist Academy.
